Where it all began …

Harvil Designs was born out of expertise, passed down for four generations – allowing the process, the materials and the craftsmanship to become the very best possible.

Nick, the Founder of Harvil Designs, grew up spending his summer breaks in his family's collision repair shop. Four generations of working and painting on cars meant that skill, precision, and a strong work ethic were in his DNA. From a young age, he learned the values and dedication it takes to care for clients. He also spent the time necessary to learn every aspect of high-end refinishing.

From the time spent on a Saturday cleaning the exhaust tubes on the spray booth (mostly because at 10 years old he could still fit up there easily) to the countless hours perfecting the finish on restored muscle cars – his time working within his family’s business created a passion he couldn’t ignore. By his high school graduation, Nick was officially working full-time in the shop.  Gaining experience and knowledge over the next decade, Nick would refinish a 1981 firebird that took top honors/best restored at its first show.

Year’s later, after his wife’s desire to paint their own kitchen cabinets, Nicks venture into cabinet refinishing would began. Frustrated at the lack of quality coatings he initially found on the market, he refinished the first set of cabinets with automotive primers and paints. The quality turned out better than what other’s had thought possible, and soon, neighbors began asking to be next in line. Those were the early beginnings of what would become Harvil Designs. Eventually the demand for Nick to paint cabinets, create custom detailing on kitchen islands and eventually, create custom furniture pieces, would grew to the point that he left the family business and launched Harvil Designs. 

Now Harvil Designs uses generations of refinishing knowledge and expertise, plus Nick’s passion for millwork and honing his craft, to help clients achieve their dream kitchens, bathrooms and custom furniture pieces.
